2020-2024 TROOP 18 EAGLE PROJECTS

Spencer Davis - 98th Eagle

Spencer Davis earned the rank of Eagle on July 29, 2024. For Spencer's project, he built and assembled four stations on a sensory trail at Special Spirit in Sunland, CA. Special Spirit is an equine therapy ranch that uses horse related learning and treatment methods to improve the quality of life of children and adults with a diverse range of mental and physical health challenges.


Noah Castiel - 97th Eagle

Noah Castiel earned the rank of Eagle on December 12, 2023. For Noah's project, he refurbished the John Burroughs High School Drama room located in Burbank, CA. He cleaned out their storage container which was filled to the door. He built and added metal shelving and created a walk-through space in the storage container to better store and access the props. He also built a ramp to transport costume racks and props to and from the stage and he built wood shelving for the drama room for the props that are used in class daily.  The project will help John Burroughs High School's Dramatic Association to store and easily locate the many props needed to create their fantastic productions. 

Andre Altoon - 96th Eagle

Andre Altoon earned the rank of Eagle on April 25, 2023. For Andre's project, he built 15 rabbit hiddey huts and a large bench for the East Valley Animal Shelter in Van Nuys, CA. The extra-large bench provides an area where people can sit and watch the dogs play.  The rabbit hidey huts are square box homes for rabbits. When someone adopts a rabbit from the shelter, they are given a free rabbit hiddey hut.  

Caelin Rogers - 95th Eagle

Caelin Rogers earned the rank of Eagle on April 24, 2023. Caelin's Eagle project was for STAR Horses with the Traditional Equitation Center in Burbank, CA. STAR Horses provides horse therapy for children and adults with autism.  Caelin refurbished their office shed by adding insulation, drywall, and plywood, as well as sanding and painting the inside and outside of the building.   

Samuel Corral - 94th Eagle

BSA WLACC 2023 Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year

Samuel Corral earned the rank of Eagle on April 24, 2023. Samuel partnered with Club 21 in Pasadena, CA, an organization which he has volunteered since he was 10 years old. Club 21 is an organization that focuses on educational advocacy for children and young individuals with Down syndrome.  The project included creating an outdoor meeting area for parents new to the program and repairing and painting a garage wall to create an outdoor portrait gallery highlighting some of the program's participants.  Installation of a new paved area, weed barriers, and mulch, security enhancements including installing a security door and a Ring outdoor floodlight camera.    

Joshua Fisher - 93rd Eagle

Joshua Fisher earned the rank of Eagle on January 24, 2022.  Joshua organized, scripted, filmed, edited, and completed a musical track for a promotional video on the Stephen Wise Temple’s youth program (WTY). The WTY program works with youth on building confidence and leadership skills along with servicing the community through various service projects.  

Julian Goggins - 92nd Eagle

Julian Goggins of Troop 18 in North Hollywood earned the rank of Eagle on October 25, 2021. Julian worked with The Lighthouse- A Place of Refuge in Sherman Oaks which helps foster families, transitioning-age youth, and the homeless.  Julian’s project was to provide Father’s Day Meals to honor foster fathers, he provided food for 60 foster families. Julian fundraised, purchased, sorted the food, assembled the food bags for each family, and arranged delivery of the meals to each home.  

Dominic Mongelli - 91st Eagle

Dominic Mongelli earned the rank of Eagle on September 20, 2021.  Dominic remodeled the Village Art Theatre’s wardrobe room and art/green room. The Village Art Theatre is a non-profit theatre and art group that operates out of Faith Presbyterian Church in Valley Village.  They put camps on for young kids and teens.  Dominic lost a dear high school friend and at his friend’s vigil, he met the owners of the Village Arts Theatre and learned that it was a place where his friend found his passion for acting, singing, and performing.  This project was Dominic’s way of giving back to his friend’s family and all the kids this program touches. Dominic created adequate storage space for costumes and costume supplies by installing piping for hanging wardrobes, refurbishing a large cabinet, and painting making an organized area for the Village Arts Theatre whose program services many of our local youth.  

Lucas Hobson - 90th Eagle

Lucas Hobson earned the rank of Eagle on August 24, 2021.  For his project, Lucas went back to his old elementary school, Carpenter Community Charter in Studio City, and painted a 30 ft x 10 ft mural of the solar system in their outdoor classroom. Fulfilling the dream of his elementary school science teacher, Mrs. Belateche, and providing his old school and current students with another beautiful educational mural on their campus. 

Aidan Praytor - 89th Eagle

Aidan Praytor of Troop 18 in North Hollywood earned the rank of Eagle on July 20, 2021. Aidan partnered with Los Angeles Family Housing (LAFH) which helps families transition out of homelessness into temporary housing.  Aidan provided “home baskets” for newly placed families. The home baskets included pots, pans, dishes, glassware, utensils, toiletries, cleaning products, and throw blankets, providing the families with some of the essentials needed for their new home.   

Alexander Rayburn - 88th Eagle

Alexander Rayburn earned the rank of Eagle on July 1, 2020. For Alexander’s project, he created a play area for deaf dogs at the Deaf Dogs Rescue shelter in Acton, CA.  Building a tunnel made of tires as well as a pyramid for the dogs to play on.  He also built a shade structure for these special pups.

Kanan Rivera - 87th Eagle

Kanan Rivera earned the rank of Eagle on February 24, 2020. For Kanan’s project he cleaned-up the Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission Help Center’s courtyard in Van Nuys, CA.  He also removed telephone poles that were being used for seating and replaced them with 3 benches he constructed for the courtyard.
